I’ve recently developed a pretty effective leadership technique that I’m going to share with you today.
If you have read “Think and Grow Rich” you already know about the power of “autosuggestion.” In that book’s version of it, it tells you to constantly meditate upon, and repeat, your goal of making a certain amount of money a certain amount of time.
So here is a slight variation: take a few sheets of paper and a pen, and start scribbling down everything and anything that you want. Leave nothing out. Write down what you want in terms of money, vacation destinations, romance, new car, bigger house, world peace, doesn’t matter. The main thing is that you let your desire energy flow freely. What you desire is less important than releasing and cultivating and nurturing your desire energy generally.
The reason I suggest doing this is, living in a polite/civil society constantly requires us to suppress desire energy. The exercise described above is a counterbalance to this constant training towards desire suppression.
This blog, and my work as a leadership/management coach, is very much about the emotional underpinnings that precede all action. If you can channel and focus your emotional energy, your physical motions will follow, and if you don’t involve this primary emotional energy, superficial physical actions will simply not be effective.
Develop your desire. The rest will follow.
