We live in a culture that seems to be awfully interested in emphasizing limitation. One obvious aspect is the limitation of time. Then there is the emphasis on the lack of money. And when someone is trying to you sell you something, they are always eager to point out what you currently lack and ought to have.
So, in my role as “inspirational speaker,” I would like to remind you of the infinity of your current existence.
First of all, if you are feeling “powerless,” well, remember that your physical body is made up mostly of water, and if we were to somehow extract all the hydrogen molecules from the water just in your body alone, there is enough energy in there to blow up a city. Of course if we were smart enough to do that, we could probably also channel that same energy to provide electricity to that city for quite some time . . .
Then there is the biological infinity. Every single cell in your body contains a blueprint for building a whole ‘nother you. It’s pretty amazing to think that in each of your microscopic cells there is a complete blueprint for a liver, two eyeballs, a set of knees, the whole works, times one hundred trillion . . . and that’s on top of all these cells all doing their daily chores. Not to mention that your mere existence represents an unbroken chain of successful procreation by your ancestors, going back a billion years at least. That’s a lot of love-making.
And regarding the lack of money, this too is bit of an illusion, at least where the United States Government is concerned. They own the printing presses. And your local bank is not limited in terms of how much money they have to loan out, as, due to the wonders of fractional reserve banking, they only have to keep 3-10% of their deposits in the bank. They can loan out the rest, and as loans are re-deposited, most of that “money” can be loaned out again, creating a theoretically infinite amount of money, essentially out of trust and patience.
And by the way, the science is pretty good now that the universe is apparently without end, and it’s getting bigger all the time. And that’s just the one universe we can see.
The emotions of love and trust are virtually infinite, except of course when there are people who seek to gain by making us believe in limitation. The great Ervin Seale makes the case that the devil does not exist; what we call “the devil” is merely the belief in limitation.
So, next time you feel like you don’t have enough or you’re not getting enough, this cultivation of resentment is probably due to someone somewhere trying to convince you to believe in limitation. If this is the case, I suggest that you take a piece of infinite time, to figure out how and where you got the crazy idea that there is a limited amount of anything, including time, money, or opportunity.
