Put Your Worries on a Budget

Okay, some years ago, after some tumultuous personal experiences, I decided it was time to really seek my highest purpose in life.

This has been a rough road, but there was no other option.

There have been some fabulous successes. But there are also constant gnawing issues, mostly of how to manage scarce resources. Living “on the edge” as it were, there is a constant Sword of Damocles hanging over one’s head.

I have discovered that, as per usual, the essential skills needed to handle this sort of extreme situation are not taught anywhere. So again, I have been forced to come up with a home-made work around.

In my book “Getting in Touch with Your Inner Rich Kid,” I try to make the point that being wealthy is not just having money; it is very much about your state of mind, and having what you want. I also try to point out that manifesting wealth is about creating “resonant energies” that attract resources to you. “Worrying” is a negative wavelength and will not draw resources to you. It is envisioning a world where they don’t ever arrive.

It’s hard to not fall into worrying when one is afraid. So I continue to worry. But I have learned that I have to put my worrying on a budget.

Yes, I need to ponder potential bad consequences, to not do so would be irresponsible. But there is only so much good (if any) that can be gained from pondering a virtually infinite set of bad consequences. After that, it’s like leaving the door open on a freezing cold day. It just uses up resources, with no return.

So okay, let’s all worry away, but from now on, let’s put it on a budget, or even a worry diet. After just so much worrying, be very proactive, and focus your mind on something good, like your closest friends and how they make life so fabulous just by their being around. Budget lots of time for that. You can take it out of worry’s budget and headcount.
