Well someone was telling me about Lightning Source the other day– it’s a company in Tennessee someplace that prints books, either one or a thousand, for the same price per book. For various reasons I thought it might be a good idea to pursue this as a book printing option. It seemed like a good idea, but yeesh, it is more complicated than I expected.
Lightning Source is somewhat user unfriendly as they have very strict rules about the file formats one sends them. Right off the bat I am in trouble, as they require that I have adobe acrobat 6.0 (or better) professional to make a pdf of the book's text, and acrobat pro is a somewhat pricey item, especially so given that I only need it for one file conversion. I am hoping to find a copy on ebay.
With perseverance I shall overcome these hurdles and get the files done soon. I am down to a handful of copies of “Principles” so the issue will be forced fairly soon.
Other news, I was a guest "co-host" on the Jordan Rich Show on late night CBS radio last weekend, all over New England and also in minneapolis area. And I will be down in Punta Gorda Florida again soon for their annual week of putting on “Peter VS the Wolf.”
