Okay, I am a speaker and would love to be considered for your next meeting or event.

If you are a meeting planner who is responsible for booking speakers, well, I feel your pain.  In a past life, I was an impresario of sorts, hiring musicians to play recording sessions for a very picky client.  It’s one thing to be responsible for your own work, it’s quite another to be responsible for someone else showing up and doing a good job.

When looking for a presenter, well, there are an awful lot of speakers out there to choose from, and, like the violinists I used to hire, every single one of them will tell you that they are the absolute best option for you.  So your only objective information you have (if any) may come from a colleague who has a given you my name.

I understand your anxiety, so if the video samples haven’t convinced you, please do feel free to give me a call.  I’m right for some, perhaps not right for others, but without being overly bold I think it’s safe to say that my presentations are fun and unique.

I would be happy to answer any questions you have, and send you to some other clients for references.

Regarding subject matter, I have two primary presentations:

One is a comedic keynote presentation for general audiences, which is basically my telling stories from Real Men Don’t Rehearse.  It’s a combination of glorious musical moments and glorious musical disasters.  It’s a “modular” presentation, which means I can adjust timing, and tell these stories for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, or longer.  If I have a choice, 60 minutes plus Q&A is usually the best option.

The second presentation is based on my book, Principles of Applied Stupidity.

I sometimes think this book should have been titled, “Principles of Sparingly Surgically and Strategically Applied Stupidity.”  It’s all about how things normally censured in an academic environment can be very useful in an entrepreneurial/managerial environment.  This presentation is heavy on comedy as well, since that’s what I really do best.  It contains several inspiring stories of people who overcame great odds because they were too dumb to know was impossible.

Note, David Meerman Scott, bestselling author of The New Rules of Marketing & PR (now published in 24 languages) said this about my book:

“I run across so-called ‘marketing experts’ who spend months of time and millions of dollars producing slick television commercials that nobody remembers. So why is it that “stupid people” can make a homemade video and put it onto YouTube for free and get a million hits? The well-paid smarty-pants trumped by the unschooled? What the heck is going on here? Justin Locke knows about the enormous power of stupidity. He’ll open your eyes to a new way of thinking, and he does it in an engaging style with tons of examples. I love ‘Principles of Applied Stupidity’.”

You can see lots of reviews and customer evals on my website speaking page at justinlocke.com/author.htm.

If you have read one my many articles about a specific element of management and would like to have it done as a custom live presentation, I am sure we can work something out.

So again, if you’re curious or have questions, feel free to call me.  No hard sell, I believe in “inbound marketing.”   – jl
