I think it was Norman Mailer who said that publishing a book is very much like being a prize fighter. “Win or lose,” he said, “you’re going to take a beating.”
When I published “Principles of Applied Stupidity” I must tell you that I was very nervous about what kind of beating I was going to take, after writing a book that ran so counter to every ounce of conventional wisdom on the planet.
Well imagine my surprise this morning when I just happen to go look at the Amazon page for the book and find this review from a total stranger:
Principles of Applied Stupidity
5.0 out of 5 stars A Surprisingly Good Read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, March 6, 2009

I was given this book by a close friend and at first glance, I thought it was being pawned off on me. My friend assured me, “Naw, you should read it, it’s actually really good.” It was a great read and I was fascinated by the stories of people who got ahead while the rest of us seem to wait in line believing there is a proper way to become successful. Even Spielberg just showed up on the Hollywood lot and pretended to be working…Wow, check it out….
I have no idea who this person is, but they sure did make my day.
