Customer Perception and the New Blog Name

So I was reading Web Ink Now yesterday and David Meerman Scott has a new promo video of himself . . .

Someday my speaking promo video will look this sharp! Anyway, one thing that really struck me was, he asked the question, what do your customers think of when they hear your name? And what do you WANT your customers (er, buyer personas that is) to think of when they hear your name? Well that one stumped me for a minute, but as I thought about it, I decided, I want people to associate my name with being original. Not just my originality, but theirs as well. So I looked up “be original” and that was taken, so I can’t use anything anyone else is using . . but lo and behold, “originality” was floating around on google without anyone having a clear stake on it, so I grabbed it. And that’s the new title / theme of the blog. I guess that has always been the case, but now I have a focused brand of sorts. I think.
