Correction to Dan Pink on What Motivates Us

Back when I played in a major orchestra for a living, when I was counting bars of rests, I found myself pondering all the many intricate emotional issues of organization dynamics that were splayed out before me in vivid technicolor.  It was not just our reactions to a given conductor; there was so much more to it.  So I speak, coach, and write about this stuff, as I am endlessly fascinated by it.  Below, another article in talentculture.com, a popular HR blog/e-zine, in which I take Dan Pink to task for overlooking the most important element of “motivation”:
